Home Visit

Me and my partner sharon where visited the house of Mother Leticia Gatdula, she was 59 yrs old. She was married to Mr. Pedro Gatdula were in her husband had an illness of diabetes. Her eldesr son namely Mr. Ramir the second is Mrs. Loida were in Mrs Loida is a balo women 2yrs ago when her husband died in a cardiac arrest, and they got a 3 children who's name is Rafael her eldest second,is francisca and the youngest is bettina. The third child of Mother Leticia is Ms. Teresita who was working at ortigas and graduated at PUP. Her youngest is Edgardo 23yrs old. Mommy Leticia past time work in their house is to make a doormat. She gave us a task to do while we were at their house. It was my first time to encounter the snail tail to cut and that was our food for that day, i was shocked because i do not eat so called "SUSU" that was a shocking moment to me,but anyway it was an experience to me. The second task that she gave us is to make
 "PAGLALALA NG BASAHAN"

and absolutely it is also my first time to do that,& i have no idea to do that task but she told us of how to make it. She instruct us and definitely i already follow the instruction and we did us well. I am already proud to myself to fulfilled the task. While Ate Loida was entertain us she told us about her life when her husband is still life with her.I was inspired to ate loida when she was talking to us i feel the happiness and love to her husband. We do also an household chores were in me and my partner wash the dishes, cleaning their house. Unfortunately and honestly speaking the family we visited are in good terms or simply they live in a average family, which they can afford to buy a gadgets and eat well. Based when i observed their house i can say they are not live in a poorest family but he experience that i encounter in their house is the one i can treasure because living in a a family you did not know or you are not connected with each other is difficult you need to gain the trust of the family you served, you have to be honest, hardworking and friendly to them to catch their trust to you. In a quite little time we served that family i humbly say their are one of the many Filipinos are hospitable, and generous person like mommy Leticia did she accept us in a heartwarming treat.

What is the role of language in teaching and learning?

1. In many classrooms where students and teacher do not fully share a common language for classroom instruction, a double bind can develop. For students, the language of the classrooms can seem opaque : rather than providing an accessible medium to work with new academic content, the language itself can introduce a formidable barrier. For their teacher, on the other hand, the language of instruction can seem a relatively transparent medium through which teaching is done. So the ‘double bind’ comes down to students working to learn the language as they are trying to learn the content, while teachers work to teach the content while they are actually de facto teaching the language. For students who understand and control the medium of instruction, language can be a relatively transparent window into the content, social processes, and relationships in the classroom.

Explain cultural change and its effect in teaching and learning

2.  The relationship between language and culture is deeply rooted. Language is used to maintain and convey culture and cultural ties. Different ideas stem from differing language use within one’s culture and the whole intertwining of these relationships start at one’s birth.

Teachers must instruct their students on the cultural background of language usage.
if one teaches language without teaching about the culture in which it operates, the students are learning empty or meaningless symbols or they may attach the incorrect meaning to what is being taught. The students when using the learn language, nay use the language inappropriately or within the wrong cultural text, thus defeating the purpose of learning a language.

interview

From teacher Ms. Mary-anne Magundayao c
Conflict: giving individual reports students are competing each other because of the incentive usually in higher section.

Consensus: the influence to my job as a teacher it would be easy for me to start and finish the lesson when the student agree to my policies.
